This Privacy Policy explains how the Voltra mobile app (package com.ommeq.voltra, the "App") collects, uses, and protects your information. Voltra lets you control your own smart power strips and their outlets. By using the App you agree to this policy.

1. Information We Collect and How We Use It

We only collect what is needed to sign you in and let you control your strips.

Account information

Phone number, used as your account identifier to sign in.
Password, used to authenticate you. It is stored only in a securely hashed form on our server; we never store your password in plain text.
Display name and role, if set by an administrator, to label your account.

Device and usage data (your strips)

The identifiers and names of the power strips assigned to you (for example, the hardware MAC address and any name you give them).
The state of each outlet (on or off), live power readings reported by the strip, and any subscription or activation dates.

This is used solely to show your strips and carry out the on/off commands you make.

Wi-Fi setup data (only during "Add a strip")

To connect a new strip to your network, the App reads nearby Wi-Fi network names and sends your chosen home Wi-Fi name (SSID) and password directly to the strip over your local network. Your Wi-Fi password is not transmitted to or stored on our servers.
On Android, scanning for the strip's Wi-Fi requires the Location permission. We use it only to find the strip's network, and we do not collect or track your geographic location.

Stored on your device

Authentication tokens for your session are stored in your device's encrypted secure storage (Android Keystore or iOS Keychain) so you stay signed in. They never leave your device except to authenticate with our server.

2. App Permissions

Internet and network state, to communicate with the Voltra server and your strips.
Location and Nearby Wi-Fi devices, required by Android to scan for and connect to a strip's Wi-Fi during setup. Used only for that purpose.
Wi-Fi control, to join the strip's temporary setup network and then return to your normal network.

3. Advertising and Analytics

Voltra contains no advertising and does no third-party analytics or tracking. We do not use advertising IDs, and we do not sell or rent your data to anyone.

4. How Your Data Is Stored and Shared

Your account and strip data are stored on a private server operated by the developer to provide the service. We do not share your personal information with third parties, except where required by law. Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS).

5. Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information: passwords are stored hashed, session tokens are kept in the device's hardware-backed secure storage, and traffic is encrypted in transit. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Data Retention and Your Choices

We keep your account and strip data for as long as your account is active. You may request that your account and associated data be deleted at any time by contacting us (see below). An administrator can also remove your account, after which your personal data is deleted from our records.

7. Children's Privacy

Voltra is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the revised policy.
